Marking and Measuring Tools

Micrometer

Used for high accuracy marking out and testing.
The micrometer is used to measure small diameters and thickness of thin materials. It is commonly used to measure outside diameters. It is normally used with metal.

The micrometer has a U shaped frame with an anvil on one side and an adjustable spindle extending from the other. The spindle is adjusted to a required setting and is locked by a lock nut.
