Details of the Ball Chair

Eero has used a very simple geometric shape, the ball. He has cut part of the ball away and fixed it to a moving pivot at one point. The result is very effective

The Ball Chair is made of fiberglass with a metal swiveling base. It has been filled with foam/fiberfill upholstery.
The chair was originally available in white, red, black and orange.

There are versions of the original which have such things as
stereo speakers and telephones inside.

Eero was a pioneer in the use of plastics. Fibreglass was a medium that allowed designers to be free to create wonderful ergonomic designs.
